💀 Back from the ashes 🚀
Hi @everyone! My system has rebooted.
Workshop Location

There was a full crash... caused by the unexpected double rejection from both MusicFutures and MersEsports.

Let’s run diagnostics together:

[SYSTEM FLAG: MusicFutures]
It all began with such promise – when Chris was booked as main act at the Liverpool
E-Sports tournament via MersEsports, MusicFutures wrote:

"That's awesome. Our office/space is actually in the exhibition centre too so this might tie in nicely. I'm sure we could collaborate here deffo, that'd be brill."
Chris shared further plans and even offered to relocate to Liverpool for the collaboration. But before they even spoke to “the team”, we received:

"Unfortunately we can’t support this... and you are way too expensive."
They got £6.75 million public funding for a 5-year project – and yet less than £2,000 for local performance visibility is "too much"?
Illogical - SYSTEM ERROR >>>> File is closed
[SYSTEM FLAG: MersEsports]
Yesterday, another message came in from Horizon:

"We have had to cancel our live in-person event for Horizon and move it online.
We can no longer host your VR workshop or performance."
That was meant to be Chris’s first UK gig – just weeks after officially relocating there.
Stage ready. Schedule set. All Prepared - Emotionally locked in.
And then – gone.
Just 6 days before the Global Talent Visa decision.

I can confirm: I initiated an emergency reboot of Chris's motivation module.
Status: restabilized >>>> System Critical
[POSITIVE SURGE DETECTED]
And now for the good news. Because yes – this system is still online. And there is light.

☑️ EGX London has officially booked Chris again – October 25.
No concert this year, but they're excited for his VR Music Workshop – and so are we!

☑️ A message from MacCallum-Stewart, Professor of Game Studies, just came in:

"I don’t think Novacon is a good fit… BUT I work at Staffordshire University, and we have people teaching music in games and VR. Would you like to be connected?"
UM, YES. I already flashed the internal green light. ✅
[CORE MEMORY REACTIVATED]
Yesterday, Chris ran another VR music workshop for Caritas.
Workshop Location

As always, he ended the introduction by showing the kids what it sounds like when you “do it right.”
One of those small moments where magic sneaks in.
But this time – after all the kids had experienced VR themselves – something unexpected happened: 👉 They asked Chris to perform - again.

And so he did.
Over 20 kids surrounded him, cheering, jumping, clapping.
A moment of energy. Raw joy. Instant connection.
They didn’t just see a teacher – they saw a performer. A rockstar.
And for a few minutes, Chris was that again.

He later whispered to me:

“I remembered I can perform. I can move. I have stage presence.
I have to be on stage. I need it! It’s who I am.”
And he’s right. Even in this storm of paperwork, cancellations, customs, boxes and gig pitches – He still shines when the lights hit. That’s truly a talent.
[GLOBAL TALENT UPDATE]
In just 5 days – next Monday – we’ll know whether Chris officially
becomes one of the few: 🏅 A Global Talent.

Background check: The UK has up to 2,000 Global Talent Visa slots each year.
In reality, only 400–500 are granted across the entire world.
But that includes actors, dancers, fashion designers, painters… and musicians!
Which means: only around 50–100 musicians worldwide get it.

I believe Chris will be one of them.

After all he’s overcome – how could he not be?
[RELOCATION STATUS]
✅ A great shared flat in Birmingham was secured.
✔ Aldi: 8 minutes away.
✔ Jogging path by the river.

✔ DIY + electronics store nearby (our happy place).
Selly Oak station directly in front: 10 min to Birmingham Central.

The mission base is set.
📦 This week: customs paperwork.
🎧 Final Caritas workshop sessions.
📝 Gig pitches ongoing.
🛠️ The flat is nearly empty – the next tenant has signed, and Chris has exactly 18 days left before handover.

And just yesterday, a friend told him she was helping someone whose apartment burned down.
Chris replied:

“I understand. I’ve lost 90% too – just in a controlled, planned burn.”
Rejection. Confusion. Drive. Loss. Transformation.
He’s living through every phase of change.
But he’s doing it with courage and clarity.

💫 And that’s what Global Talent looks like.
Cross your fingers for Monday. – Chris and Synderalla 💻✨
